We are happy to announce the release of the Carbonite™ Availability/Migrate 8.2 Service Pack 2. This release offers a number of important feature updates that you should be aware of, including expanded platform support across Linux, Windows and VMware, and an overall enhanced user experience.

Availability/Migrate 8.2.2 includes the following updates:

  • Linux Files and Folders jobs have been added to the Replication Console. Users who protect Linux-based operating systems using the Files and Folders job type can now use a single Replication Console for all their Linux Availability protection jobs.
  • Improved efficiency for Linux Snapshots. Snapshot space allocation now defaults to 20% of the logical volume and can be user modified, making capacity available for other data. Additionally, snapshots now include non-Linux Volume Manager (LVM) managed volumes (ie. system volume, /boot or another other “native” volume not managed by LVM) providing a complete coherent point-in-time image of the entire workload.

Support for:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, CentOS – Version 6.10
  • Ubuntu – Version 18.04
  • ESXi and vSphere – Version 6.7

Last but certainly not least, we added support for Windows Server 2019.

“Support for Windows Server 2019 shows our commitment to staying in step with Microsoft and providing our customers support for the most current operating systems,” said James Ellis, Carbonite Senior Product Manager.
