Carbonite cloud backup plans now offer increased support for Mac users

Carbonite today announced that it has expanded support for Apple Macintosh computer users across all of its backup and disaster recovery solutions for home users.

If you or anyone in your family uses a Mac laptop or desktop computer, you now have the option to choose any Carbonite Home plan to back up all of your digital files to the cloud. That means all of your family photos, financial documents videos and much more will be protected from power outages, fires, computer theft, ransomware and any other disaster that might happen.

What do Mac users get with Carbonite Home plans?
Carbonite Home plans come in three flavors: Carbonite Home Basic, Carbonite Home Plus and Carbonite Home Prime.

Mac users who opt for the Carbonite Home Basic backup plan get great features like unlimited cloud storage for one computer, automatic and secure, continuous cloud backup, free U.S.-based support seven days per week, and the ability to access and share files remotely.

And Carbonite's user friendly interface makes it easy to track the progress of backups. Here's a look at what Mac users will see when they first sign up and begin the initial backup of computer files:

Mac users who choose the Carbonite Home Plus plan get all the features of Carbonite Home Basic, plus automatic video backup and external hard drive backup.

Mac users who select Carbonite Home Prime get all of the features of Carbonite Home Plus with the added bonus of free Courier Recovery service—that's a savings of $99 each time you use it. When you use Courier Recovery, a Carbonite Recovery Specialist retrieves your backed-up files and copies them to external media that is then shipped to your home address. All Prime users need to do is pay $9.99 for shipping and handling.

Logging into Carbonite to locate backed-up files is a breeze. Here's an example of what you might see when you log in to Carbonite to retrieve a file:
